My fight to elect Barack Obama, one person at a time...
Thu Jun 19, 2008 at 08:55:10 AM PDT
To those of you who don’t know me, as I’m fairly new to Kos, I’m a single parent, minority female, and die-hard Democrat, who lives in the Philly suburbs in a district that was once bright red, but has slowly transitioned to purple and is now nearly leaning blue. I volunteer at the polls, work to increase voter registration, and organize GOTV operations every year.
Most voters in my area are middle-of-the-road as far as policies are concerned, but Republicans have controlled our local government for the majority of the last half-century. We are slowly starting to change that, one vote at a time. This is not a highly partisan area and I think there is plenty of room for Democratic growth, as most residents are open to discussions and/or civil disagreements. I’ve made some major inroads and created some Republican converts by simply talking about Senator Obama’s policies –vs- Senator McCain’s, and by educating individuals who had believed lies and misconceptions being pushed about Barack online. Two days ago I came across the toughest, most stubborn anti-Obama voter I’ve encountered thus far. Strangely enough, the "confrontation" occurred on my own back-yard patio.

From “He can’t win” to “I can’t win.”(Reading between the lines)
Thu May 22, 2008 at 05:19:54 AM PDT
I watch Morning Joe every morning while going through my daily routine. I consider Joe Scarborough to be an extremely obnoxious blowhard, but I’m a creature of habit and find myself tuning into MSNBC at 6am when my alarm goes off. For the past week or so, Joe has been MIA and Mika Brezenski has taken over the helm of the ship. While she isn’t necessarily my favorite on-air personality, she has been much more productive and enjoyable when having the opportunity to speak without Joe browbeating and verbally manhandling her. This morning, around 6:30am, she made an observation while discussing the state of the Democratic primary with our favorite jerk off windbag, Pat Buchanen, and she really made me think.

Is it time for the Pelosi Club to stand up and be counted?
Tue May 20, 2008 at 09:02:25 PM PDT
As we are all aware, Senator Barack Obama has cinched the majority of pledged delegates, making it impossible for Senator Clinton to surpass him in that measure, which happens to be the one, true measure agreed on by all candidates at the beginning of the primaries. Will the Pelosi Club endorse Senator Obama immediately, or will they wait until the final three contests are held?

Is it time to Wright a wrong? Updated x2
Tue Apr 29, 2008 at 10:04:18 AM PDT
Before I begin, let me say that I’m sure I’ll get a few "concern troll" comments and many people may vehemently oppose what I am about to say. This isn’t a "chicken little" rant, I don’t think the sky is falling, and I’m not taking a ride on the "OMG Barack is gonna lose b/c of 2 days worth of bad press" train. I am not, IMO, overly concerned nor overreacting, as I am simply addressing thoughts that I have calmly and rationally mulled over during the past 24 hours both alone and with friends and family. So, in essence, I am posting this diary to share my own conflicting feelings and to see if anyone in this community shares my sentiments.
Is it time for Barack Obama to end this Wright fiasco once and for all, should he just let it ride until the news cycle burns out, and if so does he have the time and/or luxury to do so?

BREAKING: Wall Street Journal: Barack Obama is the Nominee
Thu Apr 24, 2008 at 09:29:39 PM PDT
I haven’t seen this posted yet, if someone already has let me know and I’ll delete. The Wall Street Journal has finally printed the words that we have known were true for quite some time, Barack Obama is the Democratic Nominee. More after the jump.
PA precinct's results: Obama 76%, Clinton 24%
Tue Apr 22, 2008 at 09:06:14 PM PDT
I have already posted a diary explaining the difficulties that we faced during the election today. My county has not reported any voting results yet, so it may help Obama's numbers slightly when they do, but I'm not overly optimistic. My precinct just tallied its votes, Obama 76%, Clinton 24%. But guess what? It could've been much better. And right now, I'm thoroughly pissed. More after the jump
Problems at a PA poll
Tue Apr 22, 2008 at 09:49:43 AM PDT
I only have a minute to spare, so this diary is going to be relatively short. I am hoping that this incident is isolated, but if it isn’t it may be a major problem for the Obama campaign.
Sniper Fire?!?!?

I'm relatively new to KOZ and this is my first diary, so please be gentle.
